You can use every calculator on this site without an account, and without giving us anything. If you create an account, we store what you save so it is there next time — that is the entire point of the paid tier. We do not sell it, we do not advertise, and nobody will call you. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
The freight calculators and document generators run in your browser. The values you type — dimensions, weights, rates — are used to produce the answer on screen. They are not saved to an account and are not sent to us, because there is no account to save them to.
Nothing on this site requires an email address in exchange for a result.
Your email address. Signing in uses a one-time link sent to your email, so we do not ask for or store a password.
What you choose to save. Freight Desk exists to remember your work, so it stores what you put into it:
Anything you send us. If you submit a feature suggestion, we receive the message along with your email address so we can reply.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are entered on Stripe's systems and are never sent to or stored by us. What we keep is a Stripe customer reference and your subscription status, which is how the site knows your account is active.
This site uses Google Analytics to measure how pages are used — which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from, what kind of device they use. This runs on the public pages and inside the signed-in desk.
Analytics records page addresses and general usage, not the contents of your shipments, catalog or address book. You can block it with any tracker-blocking browser extension, or with Google's own opt-out add-on, and the site will work normally.
Signing in does not use cookies. Your session is held in your browser's local storage, along with small preferences such as saved column widths. Clearing your browser data signs you out and clears those preferences; it does not delete anything you have saved to your account.
Google Analytics does set its own cookies, as described above.
We use a small number of established services to run the product. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:

Your account data is stored in the United States.
For as long as you have an account, and after that until you ask us to remove it. If your trial ends or you cancel a subscription, what you saved is kept rather than deleted, so that it is still there if you come back. It is not accessible to you while the account is not on Pro, but it is not thrown away either.
Two things are kept even after a deletion request, and we would rather say so plainly than have you discover it:
Some of what Freight Desk stores is commercially sensitive — your rates, your lanes, your customers. You can have it removed whenever you want, whether or not you are a paying customer, and you do not have to give a reason.
Two options:
Email Support@westnetlogistics.com from the address on the account and say which you want. We will confirm with you before deleting anything, and confirm again once it is done. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
We only act on requests sent from the account's own email address. This is to make sure nobody else can have your data deleted.
Traffic to the site and to our database is encrypted in transit. Sign-in is by one-time email link, so there is no password to be guessed or leaked from us. Access to your saved records is restricted at the database level to your own account. No system is perfect, and we will not claim otherwise — but we do not collect more than the product needs, which is the most useful protection there is.
Freight Desk is a business tool intended for people using it at work. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
