Cases per pallet
What Ti-Hi means
Ti (tier) is how many cases sit in one layer on the pallet. Hi (high) is how many layers you stack. Multiply them and you have the cases per pallet: a 10×5 Ti-Hi is ten cases a layer, five layers high, fifty cases on the pallet. How many cases fit on a pallet?
The layer count comes from geometry. A standard GMA pallet is 48×40 inches; divide that footprint by the case footprint and you get how many fit — but which way the case faces changes the answer, so this tool tries both orientations and keeps the better one. Then it divides the height you have left above the pallet deck by the case height to get the number of layers.
A pallet is sold by the footprint. Fill the footprint, and you fill the truck.
Height and weight both cap the stack
Two limits decide how high you go. Height is the obvious one — your dock door, a rack opening, or the trailer. But weight can cap it first: a fragile product or a rack beam rated to a set load means fewer layers than the height alone would allow. Enter a max stack weight and the calculator honors whichever limit is reached first, so the pattern you plan is one the freight can actually survive.
