Slotting Optimizer
Your fastest-moving SKUs should sit in the easiest-to-reach locations. Rank items by pick velocity and this sorts your catalog into Gold, Silver, and Bronze pick zones — a forward-pick plan that cuts travel time where it counts.
Your SKUs
Enter annual pick lines per SKU (how often it's picked, not how many units). No pick data? Leave it blank and a list carried over from ABC Analysis will fall back to annual units.
Gold = the top movers up to the Gold cutoff of cumulative picks; Silver = up to the Silver cutoff; Bronze = the slow tail. Default 50 / 80.

Why slot by pick velocity
Most of a picker's day is walking, not picking. Slotting is the practice of deciding where each SKU lives so that travel is minimized. The single biggest lever is pick velocity — how often an item is picked. Put the high-velocity SKUs in the golden zone (waist height, closest to pack-out) and the slow movers out on the edges, and the same orders get filled with far less walking.
Value is not velocity
A high-value SKU isn't always a fast-moving one, which is why slotting uses picks rather than dollars. An expensive item picked twice a month belongs nowhere near the golden zone; a cheap consumable picked fifty times a day belongs right in it. That's the difference between this tool and ABC Analysis: ABC grades items by money, slotting places them by movement. Many operations use both — ABC to set control policy, slotting to set the map.
Zones are assigned by cumulative pick share, so the SKU that tips the running total past a cutoff lands in the closer zone. This is a velocity ranking, not a full 3-D layout — it tells you what belongs close, not the exact bay.
